WEATHER FORECAST
CHANGEABLE AND SQUALLY The following weather forecast was issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the southern districts—Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill, River* ton, Orepuki, Halfmoon/Bay:— A series of waves of an extensive westerly depression still continues to cross the southern portion of the Dominion, but pressure is now rising over South-eastern Australia. Forecast; Moderate to , strong westerly winds, backing to southerly after about -24 hours. Weather changeable and squally, with rain at times, and, in places, thunder. Temperatures warm but becoming cooler to-morrow. Sea* rough. OVERCAST BUT WARM. High temperatures again preVailed in Dunedin this morning. The sky was overcast, but the rainfall of yesterday appeared to have passed over. The maximum thermometer registration at noon was 76deg, and the minimum 69deg. There was a light north-westerly breeze,'while barometric pressure was falling at 29.55 in. Rainfall over a period of 24 hours yesterday amounted to ,03in, while the respective maximum and minimum thermometer reading* were 82 and 61deg.
