One mile and a-quarter.—Young Crusader 9.2, Prince Quex 9.0, _ Gold Rod 9.0, Alinura B.l3,’Damalis 8.3. The Brunswick Stakes field of 16 includes Mutable; Red Manfred, . Gay Circle, and The Riff. ' The gallops at Flemington took place on the course proper 30ft out. Old Rowley beat Apollo over a mile in Imin 47isec, and Bringa went nicely over 10 furlongs in 2mm 15sec. Princess. Pam easily Tuckerbox over six furlongs in Imin-17|sec. . -Young ■ Crusader covered a mile easily in Imin. 50Jsec. Lolurua ran four furlongs in 50|sec, Cesar five in Imin sssec, and Mohican four in Slseo. Sarcherie went well over seven furlongs in Imin 33 l-3sec. Toolev Street failed to show up in the weak field in the Mornington Welter, run tb-day, but should benefit from the run. ' The Highweight Handicap was won by the former New Zealander, Greenhorn. . Ajax has drawn number 14 barrier position in the Newmarket Handicap. This is unfavourable, but the colt is considered to have a mortgage on the race.
