FRIDAY. FEBRUARY 25. (Before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS. Thomas Hector M'Caugban, a statutory first offender, was ordered to come up for sentence within three months, and to pay cab fare (3s). A similar charge against a first offender, a female, was adjourned for 12 months. ' UNREGISTERED RIFLES* Robert M‘lntyre pleaded guilty to being the owner of three rifles for which he did not possess permits. He was fined 5s and costs, and one of the rifles was ordered to be retained by the police. MOTORISTS CHARGED. Basil Maurice MaePherson, who pleaded guilty to a charge of being an unlicensed motor driver, was fined 10s and costs (3s). Fred Arnett, who pleaded guilty to driving a motor car without due care and attention, was fined 20s and costs. “ Tho report is satisfactory,” said the Magistrate in respect of John Moore against whom a charge of passing a vehicle on an intersection had been adjourned to enable him to attend the motorists’ school. UNLICENSED BAKEHOUSE. A fine of 5s and costs was imposed on Stanley Mulqueen on a charge of using a building as a bakehouse without permission. CASTING OFFENSIVE MATTER. Pleading guilty to a charge of casting offensive matter in a public place, William Henry Grimsey was fined 20s and costs.
