Firing is taking place at Trentham to-day in the international teams match between Great Britain, South Africa, and New Zealand. The conditions of the match were 10 men aside, each man firing 10 rounds at 300yds, 600yds, 800yds, and 900yds. The sky was overcast, and there was a tricky fishtail breeze from the rear. Shooting at 300yds and 600yds was completed before the luncheon adjournment. New Zealand led at the end of the first rang© with an aggregate score of 471, South Africa being next with 462. The British team scored 456. South Africa gained a point at the 600yds range, and at the conclusion of the firing at that distance New Zealand had an. aggregate score of 928 for the two ranges. South Africa was 8 points behind with 920, and Great Britain had 909. $ OODGEE SURF CARNIVAL SYDNEY, February 24. (Received February 24, at 1 p.m.)' In the junior surf race the New Zealander, H. Gold Rod beat Bgmont over a mile in Imin 46|seo. Prince Quex and Bellevue finished together after a mile in Imin 45sec. The Biff heat Boongarry over a mile in Imin 45Jsec. John Wilkes ran 10 furlongs in 2min 19sec. King’s Head and Beechwood did five furlongs in Imin Ssec. Ajax, hard held, covered five furlongs in Imin ssec. On the sand, Elanage, very fit, ran six furlongs in Imin 17isec. Pantoon and Red Manfred covered a mile in Imin 45isec.
