PARLIAMENT

SESSION RESUMES ON TUESDAY MR SAVAGE NOT TO BE PRESENT FOR OPENING [Special to the * Stas.*] WELLINGTON, February 23. • The session will resume on Tuesday without fhe presence pf the Prime Minister, who will delegate leadership of the House to the Hon. Peter Fraser (Minister of Education). This development is not due to the state of Mr Savage’s health, but is necessitated by his first public engagement since his illness —his attendance at the Catholic centenary celebrations in Auckland. It will be impossible for him to return to Wellington before Wednesday morning. Although Mr Savage has resumed his duties, he is conserving his strength by limiting his day’s programme.
