WAITAKI POWER BOARD. The monthly meeting of the Waitaki Power Board was held yesterday, Mr J. M'Diarmid presiding. The financial statement showed cash receipts for January, with the figures for January last year in parentheses,.to bo as follow; —Current £5,641 lie 9d (£3,929 8s lid), fittings and house wiring £1,179 Is lid (£1,207 3s lid), cash sales £52 8s 7d (£36 14s 4d) ; total, £6,873 2s 3d (£5,173 7s 2d). The sales of electricity ror the 10 months ended January 31 totalled £33,564 (estimate £32,269), as against £29,317 for the same period last year. A request by the Exhibition Committee of the Power Boards’ Association for the board to reconsider its decision regarding a contribution to the cost of an electrical court at the Centennial Exhibition was referred to the Finance Committee. _ The board received a citation as a party to an award applied for by the Dunedin and Suburban General Electrical Workers’ Union.—The engineer was appointed to attend the hearing on March 23. It was decided that all applications for the purchase of refrigerators on the hire-purchase system be considered on their merits. The engineer (Mr I. Dalmer) reported that, during the month, 10 ranges, 11 water heaters, and six motors had been installed, and seven new consumers had been connected. The load added for the month was 112 kw> Careless tree-felling had been causing trouble, one recent case having caused a cut-off of power from the northern part of the town and the whole of the Waitaki Plains, BEEKEEPERS. A sucoesJful field day of beekeepers was held at Gemmell’s Crossing on Saturday. Mr Bennie (Ranfurly) gave an interesting demonstration of a method of removing bees from sipers of honey. Mr D. S.
