THREE MORE WINS TO ENGLAND RECORD TIMES BY BUYER ARB LEIVERS EMPIRE GAMES CONCLUDE TO-DAY SYDNEY, February 11. It was another quiet day at the Empire Games, merely the swimming finals being decided. The finals of the athletic and cycling heats will take place to-morrow, when the games will conclude. , In the finals of the concluding swimming events at the Olympic pool tonight, New Zealand competed only in the medley relay, 330 yards. Results: — . MEN’S BACKSTROKE. Oliver (England) 1 Kerr (Canada) f Taylor (England) 3 Won by two and a-half yards; half a yard between second and third. TEAMS LEAVE NEXT WEEK

SYDNEY, February 11. The Empire Games teams will sail for home next week, Britain, Ceylon, and India by the Stratheden, New Zealand and Rhodesia by the Awatea and the Themistocles next Friday. Canada, Bermuda, and British Guiana will leave by the Niagara next Thursday.

TO BE HSLD IN CANADA The members of the British Empire Games Federation to-day placed on record their disinclination to participate in Olympia Games held in any country involved in war. New Zealand was represented at the Federation meeting. It was decided that the next Empire Games be held in Canada in 1942, provided that Canada submitted its application by December. It was agreed that a bowling tournament be included in future, the programme to be standardised to include athletics, boxing, cycling, lawn bowls, rowing, swimming, and wrestling. It was further agreed that England and the Dominions should endeavour to send judges for diving, wrestling, and boxing, these officials to be component parts of every team sent to the games.
