CALL OF THE SURF
STATE OF THE BEACHES IN EXCELLENT CONDITION With the exceptionally warm spell Dunedin is at present experiencing the call of the surf will attract thousands of people to the beaches during the weekend. Most of the beaches are in excellent condition, while the water is fairly, warm. Provided reasonable care is exercised, such as surfing between the flags and not venturing out too far, there should be no mishaps. The St. Clair Beach is in perfect condition, with the sand 1 generally smooth. Care must be ’taken, however, as there is a deep hole practically on the shore. The St. Kilda Beach is also in good condition, while the recent strbng backwash has disappeared. Tomahawk is in good order, with practically no sea running and the water mild.
