WEDDINGS

JAMIESON—CLARE. Mr J. E. (Jack) Lovelock, the worldfamous mile runner, was the usher at a wedding solemnised at Rernenhan? Parish Church, England. The ceremony was unusual in that both the bride and the bridegroom, the best man, and the usher were all New Zealanders, and that one of the officiating clergy spent some years in that country. The bridegroom was Dr Edward Speid Jamieson, son of Dr and Mrs J. P. S. Jamieson, of Nelson, and the bride Miss Nancy Clare, daughter of Captain and Mrs W. M. Clare, of New River Head, Invercargill. t The service, which was fully choral, was conducted by the Rev. W, HardyJohnson (late of Dunedin), and the Rector of Reroenham (the Rev. S. C. Rees-Jones). Mr F. C. Rogers was at the organ, and played the customary voluntaries, and the full choir was in attendance. The bride, who was given away by Mr J. H. Cridlan, of Remenham Farm, Henley, wore a picture frock of white organdie, tulle veil, and a cluster of real flowers. She' carried a white Prayer Book, and wore lilies of the valley and white roses. * In attendance were Dr Mary Watson and Miss Eleanor Hardy-Johnson, and a‘small flower girl, Miss Marion Blaxill. The elder bridesmaids wore picture frocks of pale green spotted net and chaplet headdresses of carnations and white heather, and earned bouquets of the same flowers. The smallest attendant wore a Victorian frock of white net, green sash, and headdress similar to those of the elder attendants. , Mr Roger W. Jamieson (brother ot the bridegroom) was best man, and Mr J. E. Lovelock the usher. A reception was later held at Remenham Farm, Henley, the residence of Mr and Mrs J. H. Cridlan, the latter of whom is herself a New Zealander. The honeymoon was spent in Scotland, and the bride travelled m an attractive suit of brown angora trimmed with brown fur. # Dr and Mrs Jamieson will temporarily be residing in England.
