HUNDREDS OF ARRESTS
MEMBERS OF AUSTRIAN ARMY SUSPECTED OF NAZI ACTIVITIES Pres* Association—By Telegraph—Copyright PRAGUE, November 26. (Received November 27, at 11.30 a.m.) Responsible officials of the Henlein Party claim that they have information that there have been hundreds of arrests since November 10 of members of the Austrian army suspected of Nazi activities. The Austrian Press has not mentioned the arrests. [A previous message stated: The ‘ Daily Telegraph’s ’ Prague correspondent understands that a number of military officers have been arrested in Vienna on charges of espionage on behalf of Nazi interests. It is reported that an officer of Bennweg Barracks gave a letter to a new recruit to post, but the recruit was suspicious and handed over the letter to the orderly room. Arrests in several barracks followed.]
