-» ATTACKS UPON THE JEWS German school teachers have received instructions to weave into boys’ and girls’ classwork on the three Il’s the idea that “ we can expect no mercy ” from any “ Jewish ” God, says the ‘ Winnipeg Free Press.’ Opening the fall term, teachers found in a new anti-Jewish handbook the suggestion that if they were alert they might find a chance to bring out “ the truth about the Jews ” in history, biology, Nature study, and anthropology. The handbook was written by Fritz Fink, a Nuremberg school counsellor and published with a foreword by Herr Julius Streicher, Germany’s chief antiSemite. Fink declared there is a good opportunity for “ conscientious ” teachers to stress the subject wherever the name “ Jehovah ” appoars in history, literature, or current events. Thus, he suggests, it is possible to tell children about ancient Egypt; what it suffered through the Jews; how the Jews then conquered Palestine, “ slaughtering natives ” and “ transforming into a desert a land which formerly flowed with milk and honey.” Even the smallest children, he advises, can be told of a Jewish conspiracy in Persia, where a “ blood bath ” was organised under the beautiful Esther to kill thousands of King Ahazuerus’s loyal subjects.” Children studying ancient Rome, Fink declares, should understand that it w r as the Jews, after their dispersion, ■who penetrated all • quarters of the Roman Empire and eventually caused its downfall. Medieval and modern history, he tells teachers, should be taught with special emphasis of the “ desperate struggles ” of the Spanish, Polish, and German peoples against Jewish domination. It should be pointed out, he adds, that “ wherever revolution upsets the established order, from the great French revolution on down to the present day,” Jews are found. Among great men w 7 ho told “ the truth about the Jews ” the handbook cites the Galilean Prophet, Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified by the Jews; the historian Tacitus, the religions reformer Martin Luther, King Frederick the Great of Prussia, Napoleon Bonanarto.
