CAPTURED BRITISH SHIPS TO BE RELEASED BY INSURGENTS LONDON, November 11. (Received November 12, at 11.5 a.m.)
General Franco has notified Whitehall that the insurgents are releasing captured British merchant ships.
The Australian Associated Press diplomatic correspondent understands that this signifies completion of the agreement for the mutual exchange of agents. ARRANGEMENTS FOR SUB-AGEHTS (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, November 11. (Received November 12, at noon.) An official communique states that in view of the desirability of establishing more satisfactory contact than at present exists between the British Government and the authorities' of tho territory under General Franco’s control for the protection of nationals and commercial interests in each other’s territory, it has been agreed that an agent of the British Government shall be appointed to reside at Salamanca or elsewhere, and that in return the British Government shall receive an agent of General Franco in London. In addition, sub-agents will be appointed at a limited number of places.
