(Received November 12, at 11 a.m.) The Nobel Prize for Literature has been awarded to the French author M. Roger Dugard. AWARDS FOR PHYSICS AMD CHCMISTRY STOCKHOLM, November 11. (Received November 12, at 1.30 p.m.) Professor George Paget Thomson will share the Nobel Prize for physics with Dr Clinton Davisson, of the Bell Telephones Laboratory, New York. Professor Walter Norman Haworth shares the chemistry prize with 1 rofessor Paul Karrer, «f Zurich University. [Professor Thomson has been professor of physics at the Imperial College of Science since 1930, and has worked von various problems of aeronautical research. Professor Haworth has been professor of chemistry and director of the department of chemistry in the University of Birmingham since 1925.]
