INCREASED BUTTER PRICES
QUESTION IN COMMONS SMALLER OVERSEAS SUPPLIES Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, November 11. (Received November 12, at 2 p.m.) Asked in the . House of Commons what prevented increased importations of butter from New Zealand, Australia, and Denmark, in view of the increased prices, Mr Oliver Stanley said the reasons for the supplies being smaller than iusual included the temporary shortage of rain in Australia, delayed loadings in New Zealand, and the increased demand in Germany. There was no reason to doubt that the increased prices were having the effect of attracting such supplies as were available.
