(Received November 6, at 11.30 a.m.) The Vice-Chancellor of Oxford University. in an official statement, explains the position with_ regard to the Oxford anneal fund. Gifts amounting to £421,000 had been received in response to the appeal made nine months ago, and some needs had been fully met. by this means and by specific benefactions. by Lord Nuffield and others, but the resources of the university .were still inadequate, and it was hoped to raise another £BO,OOO as soon as possible, ■ '
