Professor James Shelley, Director of Broadcasting, and Mr J. R. Smith,; chief engineer of the National Broad* casting Service, left by tho 11.35 train this morning on their return to Wellington. Bishop Whyte travelled to Oamaru to-day to witness the Blessed Sacrament annual procession to be held tomorrow. Dr D. G. M'Millan, M.P., returned from Wellington this afternoon. Mr C. B. Barrowclough returned yesterday after attending the Plunket Society’s conference at Wellington. Mr F. A. Robins, senior supervisor of the telegraph branch at the Chief Post Office, Invercargill, arrived yesterday to take up the position of superintendent of the telegraph branch at the Chief Post Office. Recent guests at the Carlton Hotel include Messrs H. Crighton Hill and, A. Pringle (Auckland), Mr A. C. Harding (Wellington), Mr and Mrs D. J j Purdom (Timaru), Mr J. Jenkins (Tarras), Mr and Mrs Taylor, Mrs Hilton, and Miss Hilton (Invercargill).; Staying at the Excelsior Hotel are Mr M. Pharo (Auckland), Mr M* Fitzgerald and R. F. Landreth (Wellington), Mr S. F. Morgan (Timaru), Miss Margret Cameron (Oaraaru). _ Guests registered at Wain s Hotel include Messrs A. Geddes, M. Sampson, L. K. Morris (Wellington), Mr P< Edwards (North Canterbury), Mr and Mrs R. W. Ewart (Christchurch), Mrs E, W. Harrison,, Miss J. 11. Wilson; (Timaru), Messrs H. Macalister and W. A. Ayres (Invercargill). Latest arrivals at the Grand Hotel include Mr Ralph W. Barnett (London), Mr and Mrs D. G. O’Toole (Wanganui), Mr A. J. Scott (Christchurch), Mr and Mrs W. Pollock (Kelso).
