White Hope’s sire, Such a Mark, was by Farndon Ferry, who not only won the English Waterloo Cup in 1902, but later ia life proved himself to be one of England’s best sires. Fiery Furnace was another great sire in bis day. It is very doubtful .whether, the present generation of coursing enthusiasts will live to see a sire either imported to Australia or bred ther® or in New Zealand to equal the deeds of White Hope. _ _ Lupelite won th© New. Zealand Waterloo Cup in 1926, and his non* Lupin, won it in 1929. To use Mr Bladon’s own words, “ She was the best greyhound that ever looked through a pair of slips.” That Mr Bladon was correct, her performance* prove, among them being the following? —ln 1893 she won the Victorian Oak* at Diggers’ Rest (Vic.), won the Waterloo Cup also at Diggers’ Rest.
