RED CROSS GARDEN FETE
The annual Red Cross garden.fete will be held at the Montecillo hoine grounds to-morrow afternoon. 3 1 he function will bo formally opened at 2.30 by Dr Thos. Fergus. By means of this fete the Red Cross, Committee hopes that the soldier patients under its care will have a special opportunity for disposing of sainplcs of their handiwork. Under the capable guidance of Miss Miller, vocational instructress, the men have made up a, full stock of articles in leather and wicker, in pleasing colours and designs. Patrons will have a good choice of. articles very suitable for the Christmas season. Music will be provided by the band of the Ist [Battalion, and Miss Lily Stevens’s pupils will present several artistic dance displays. The Ladies’ Committee and assistants will servo afternoon tea and ice cream. The homo grounds will make a delightful sotting for the fete, and given fine weather there should be a good attendance of citizens.
