ST. PETER'S CHURCH

ANNUAL BAZAAR The annual bazaar organised by the Bt. Peter’s Church Ladies’ Guild was opened yesterday afternoon in the Parish Hall, Cargill road, by Arch-' deacon Whitehead, who was introduced by the vicar, the Rev. A. B. Pywell. In the course of an interesting address the Archdeacon _ recalled his several pleasant associations with the parish and his continued interest in its welfare. He said he had come to realise that such events as bazaars, besides being a helpful source of revenue, also became a useful medium of social activity through regular guild meetings. The speaker felt sure the bazaar would bo successful from a financial viewpoint. He congratulated the president (Mrs J. M'Currach), secretary (Mrs H. C Flinders), and guild members on their attractive display. The bazaar was continued _ to-day. and will remain open this evening and to-morrow afternoon and evening. The stall-holders are:— Plain and Fancy.—Mesdames M'Currach, Pywell, Stewart, C. Martin, Boult, Cross, Faigan, and Perry, Cakes.— Mesdames H. C. Flinders, Saxton, C. Baker, and Miss Featherstone. . . . Produce. —Mesdames Price, Williamson, Ombler, and Paine. Sweets.—Misses Homan, Simpson, Holden, Baker, Sharpe, and Mrs Gwynne.
