ALLEGED EMBEZZLEMENT
LODGE SECRETARY CHARGED BIG SUM INVOLVED In the Police Court this morning Roy Drummond Bachop (38) was charged with the theft of £477 19s 9d from the Protestant Alliance Friendly Society (Triumph Lodge), of which he was secretary. Detective-sergeant Hall asked for a further remand until August 23, adding that there were inquiries to ho completed. Tho police had no objection to a renewal of bail. Mr C. J. L. White, who represented the accused, said he understood that the police would nob be able to proceed even then, and that a final date would have to be fixed later. Tho remand was granted, and bail was renewed as before (in self of £4OO and a surety for a similar amount).
