The crisp handling of the Australian backs gave the impression that on a dry ground they would be a brilliant combination. Tries were scored for the visitors by Hazeldon (21, M'Lean, and Stehr* Bickerton and Davison scored tries toy New Zealand, the latter kicking a penalty goal.
