TRAM LINE DANGER
The danger, of travelling along tram lines especially at cornel's, during wet weather, has been illustrated by accidents resulting from violent skids while running along the steel rails. The greasy rails provide little or no adhesion for the tyres, particuarly at speed, and a driver who attempts to corner on the lines finds that his vehicle often skids suddenly. Drivers are oau.tioned to exercise extreme care when running on tram lines, and to be prepared for skids and side slips which may prove disastrous in the event of pedestrians or other vehicles being in the vicinity. It is always advisable to cut across the tram lines when on a corner, as the normal road surface offers greater security. This applies particularly to motor cyclists, who run a great risk by riding along tram lines.
