MEDICAL AID FOR SPAIN.
. TO TH3S EDITOR. Sir, —In reply to my letter aboufi medical aid for Spain “ Presbyterian ”■ says: “ As to the usefulness of the appeal anyone with the_ imagination of a carraway seed can visualise the situation and the need ” (for medical aid). I can imagine the situation well enough—that of two armies fighting each other. But we all know that in these days the medical unit of an armV is perhaps the best organised unit of the whole outfit, and it is for this reason that I cannot imagine the need for New Zealand to send medical aid to Spain. But perhaps “Presbyterian.’ by virtue of his greater _ powers or reasoning, will be able to giro us some good reason why we should send aid to a medical unit which is already well organised and' efficient. In the meantime I shall continue to think that it is “ Presbyterian ” and not myself who has the “ imagination of a carraway, seed.”—l am, etc., R.C. August 9. :
