DEADLOCK ENDED
NEWCASTLE COLLIERIES WAY OPEN FOR NEGOTIATIONS Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, August 9. (Received August 9, at 11 a.m.) The deadlock which has held the Broken Hill Proprietary Collieries in the Newcastle district idle for more than a week has ended. The members of the Miners’ Federation employed at the three pits (John Darling, Burwood, and Lambton B) decided to give a guarantee recommended by the Miner’s Central Council that there will be no more stay-in strikes at their mines pending the completion of negotiations between the Miners’ Federation and the New South Wales coal owners on the subject of wages and conditions.
