AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE
NATIONAL SECURITY MEASURES IN PROGRESS CONSULTATIONS WITH NEW ZEALAND Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright CANBERRA, August 6. The ‘ Sun’s ’ correspondent states that national security measures for Australia have been advanced by the Commonwealth Defence Council to the stage where in the event of war the whole of the resources of the Commonwealth could be organised at a minute’s notice. The council made a complete survey of all aspects of industrial transport and other activities, and mapped out a co-ordinated plan to place the nation on a war footing, in which each section of the people will have its duties clearly defined.' Sir Archdale Parkhill announced that similar action had been taken in New Zealand following consultations between the Australian and New Zealand Governments last year, arid in London recently.
