The Hope of Dunedin Tent met ia the Embassy Salon, when C.R, Bro. W,. M’Kechie presided. An initiation was conducted by Past C.R. Bro. L. V* Gain. Reports were received as fed-, low:—Hope of Dunedin Tent was declared the winner of the inter tent indoor bowling competition. At the official invitation of the Star of the South Tent, a numberof members from the sister tents attended and were entertained at trump whist. Sister J* Rhodes, of Sobriety Tent, and Bro. P„ Wellington, of Hope of Dunedin Tent,, were the winners. Prov. C.R. Sister E. K. Gain presented a Past Chief Ruler’s emblem to Sister F. Harman and a collar to Bro. W. J. Bryant. Prior _to the adult entertainment 70 juveniles gathered in the tent room fop a combined social. The U.P.S. church! parade was held in the Concert Chamber of the Town Hall, when the Rev. W.Allen Stevely (a member of the Rechabite Order) addressed' the gathering* Bro. A. T. M'lndoe (Reehabite Order)*, president of the United Friendly Societies’ Council, read the Scripture lesson* The procession was led by the St. Hilda Band and marched frpm Anzac' Square to the Concert Chamber. The item on the syllabus for the evening was “ Brothers’ Surprise.” The Provincial Council meeting was held in the Y.M.C.A.* when Prov. C.R. Sister E. K. Gain occupied the chair. District Officers Bro, and Sister A. V. Gain were also in attendance. The following suggestions! from the Juvenile Committee were submitted and its report _ adopted:—An--nual singing and elocutionary competitions to be arranged on a Saturday, so as not to clash with the school sports.. Centenary sports meeting to be held at Woodhaugh Gardens, with a set tea. Church parade at First Church on the Sunday evening. The Martin Cup competition resulted: Southern Cross, 171 points, 1; Crystal Spring, 168 J, 2; Primrose, 163, 3; Hope of Valley, 145* 4; Rising Star, 68 (naif-period only)* 5. Bro. A. V. Gain, district deputy ruler, reported on his visit to Christchurch to the jubilee of Pride of Christchurch Tent, and Sister Gain reported on the visit to Invercargill ip attend the jubilee of Murihiku Tent. At the former jubilee banquet Bro. A. V,Gain proposed the toast of the “ Pride of Christchurch Tent.”! At the latter, banquet Sister A. R. Gain, district superintendent of female members, replied to the toast of “The Order.”! Sister E. K. Gain responded to the toast of “ The Sisters,” and at the juvenile function spoke to the boys and girls. The D.S.F.M. conducted the adult meeting, including the initiation ceremony. Bro. C. Bascand' (Past, District Chief Ruler), of Christchurch, was also present at,the jubilee function’ of Murihiku Tent.
