IMPERSONATION OF STATIONS \ [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, August 6. For _ having an unlicensed radio transmitter mid impersonating radio stations Gilbert Glazbrook, who was charged on summons, hut did not appear, was fined £2 and costs on each charge by Mr F. H. Levion, S.M., in the Police Court to-day. Tile prosecuting radio inspector said that many complaints had been made that a supposedly unlicensed station was transmitting on the call signs ZL. BXK, and VPK. The inspector heard a transmission of the calls and of recorded items on the afternoon of July 4. He called at the defendant’s house and found an unlicensed transmitter. The defendant admitted the offence and said ho had no idea that his calk, which ho was sending to a friend in Howe street, ivere going outside. The inspector said the calls were heard as far as Gisborne, Napier, and New Plymouth. The Magistrate said the maximum fine which could he imposed on the first charge was £IOO, and on the second £oo or six months’ imprisonment.
