(Received August 6, at 1 p.m.) Under the impression that it would stop business, Cr Taylor, at a meeting of the Glasgow City Council, during a heated adopted a Cromwellian device. He seized the mace and hid it in the banqueting hall, but the Lord Provost ruled that business could proceed.
