JARVIS BEATS GILDO [Puk United Press Association’.] WELLINGTON, August 5. In a scientific display of boxing tonight, Jack Jarvis (Eltham) lightweight professional champion of the Dominion, outpointed Young Gilclo, the Filipino, in a 15-round contest. Jarvis had a clear-cut win, showing sound defence and better condition than his opponent. Jarvis scaled 9st 81b, and Gildo 31b leas. The bout was witnessed by tho Springboks, and their captain, 11.I 1 . J. Nel, was introduced to the large audience, who gave him an ovation.
