THE ‘SPORTS SPECIAL’
Tt-immrs features The highlights of to-morrow’s sport will be the Springbok-Wel-lington match at Wellington, the Otago-Southland return game at Invercargill, and the opening of Grand National Week with the Metropolitan trots. All of these events will be fully covered in tomorrow’s ‘ Sports Special ’ by our own reporters, and will be supplemented by briefer reports of local sporting fixtures, including Soccer, hockey, basketball (Otago v. Southland), harriers, and the point-to-point steeplechase at North Taieri; and telegraphed accounts of the opening match of the Aus-‘ tralian League team at Auckland, and a number of northern Rugby games, the most important of which are Canterbury v. Taranaki and Wairarapa v. Manawatu. Of interest to all followers of Rugby will be the inclusion of a complete set of portraits of the visiting Springboks and the 20 players from whom the teams to represent New Zealand will be selected. The issue will carry the usual generous quota of illustrations and newsv reviews of all sports. It will be sold on the streets from 7 p.m.
