SATURDAY'S WRESTLING

The Otago Wrestling Association is pleased in having secured for its patrons a maijCh between two such outstanding wrestlers as Earl M'Cready, of Canada, and Matros Kirilenko. Kuban Cossack. Saturday night will mark M'Cready’s first New Zealand appearance this season, and the wrestling public will be anxious to see the British Empire champion fresh from his recent successes in America

M'Cready’s bout with Kirilenko will be of special interest as the Russian has shown that he has few equals and still fewer superiors as a fast and scientific wrestler, with many unorthodox holds and manoeuvres always in reserve. The public always realises that with M'Cready in the ring it will see wrestling at its best, and with an opponent of the calibre of the Cossack the champion will be called upon to do his utmost if he. is to maintain his reputation. Kirilenko is to give a better performance against M'Cready than Glen Wade, whose match with M'Cready was a sensation two years ago. While the Russian is every bit as clever as Wade, he is stronger and faster, and is_ much more aggressive in the ring. Kirilenko, before going to America, GrsocoRoman championship of Europe, and in addition to this excellent grounding, has had considerable experience in catch as catch can wrestling, having met and defeated some of the best heavy-weights in America. Further particulars are advertised.
