A CLERGYMAN FINED Frail Auocistion—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, June 29. (Received June 30, at II a.md A former moderator, the Rev. T. M. jJohnstone, was fined £IOO for contempt of court during a speech at the General Assembly at Belfast criticising the King’s Bench in granting a new license. Mr Johnstone was ordered to be detained in gaol till he paid. He told he could hot appeal, but he was permitted to attend the ordination of his son on July 1, after which he will surrender to the gaol. A clergyman tried to address the court, which broke up in disorder.
