TEMPERANCE UNION
A meeting of the Dunedin Young People’s Temperance Union was held last Monday, there being a good attendance of members. A welcome was extended to eight visitors, three of whom were initiated as new members. The report of the committee for the formation of Bands of Hope was tendered, with a request for members to speak at the various Band of Hope meetings. Items rendered by Miss P. Angelo and Miss M. Parnta were warmly appreciated. Mr H. Denscm, the speaker for the evening, gave a most instructive and interesting address on the use and abuse of alcohol. A vote of thanks was accorded Mr Densem by the president (Miss L. Gibbs), and. a pleasant evening was terminated with the pronouncing of the benediction.
