EMPIRE MIGRATION CONFERENCE
INVITATION TO NEW ZEALAND [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, June 29. An invitation to participate in the Empire Migration Conference to *bo held in London in October has been extended to the Five Million Club, of which the Speaker of the House of Representatives (the Hon. W. E. Barnard) is the president. A decision to hold the conference was reached at a conference on migration held at Newcastle, England, about three weeks ago. At the Newcastle conference reference was made to. the worth of Mr Barnard and the club in advocating migration, and congratulations were extended to them for the efforts they were making to arouse interest in this question in New Zealand. A cablo message ■ received by Mr Barnard is signed by Mr A. A. Somerville, M.P. for Windsor in the House of Commons, who is chairman of the Migration Conference, London. It reads; “This conference tenders warm congratulations to yourself and the Five Million Club on your active migration policy. Your club is invited to participate in the Empire Migration Conference, to bo opened at the Guildhall, London, on October 11, oy the Lord Mayor.” Mr Somerville also stated that he was forwarding details by mail. The club hopes to be able to make arrangements to bo represented at the conference.
