FLUNKET SOCIETY APPEAL
HEW KARITAKE HOSPITAL The public response to the appeal launched' some weeks ago for £20,007 to rebuild the Karitane Hospital at Anderson’s Bay is encouraging, and although there is a long way to go. it is confidently expected that the £13,000 still needed before operations can commence will be forthcoming. It is interesting to note that from a very small beginning in Dunedin 30 years ago the society has grown into an organisation of 68 branches, employing a total permanent Plunket nursing staff of 126 nurses and 108 trained Plunket nurses. Donations will be accepted at the ‘ Evening Star ’ Office, and even the most moderate amount will be gratefully received.
