BRILLIANT COMEDY SUCCESS

JACK BUCHANAN FOB ST. JAMES

As in bis previous farces, in ‘ This’ll Make You Whistle,’ which will be screened at the St. James Theatre on Friday, Jack Buchanan is the storm centre of seemingly endless _ trouble, and Jean Gillie and. Marjorie Brook are tho cause of most of it. Elsie Randolph, who has scored in several other successes under the Buchanan banner, sings and dances with Jack in many catchy and tuneful numbers. ‘ This’ll Make Yon Whistle ’ opens on a light note. Jack Buchanan is engaged to Marjorie Brooks, whose unceasing regret is that -ho is a _ good rider to hounds. She forces him to enter for the mounted ogg-ami-spoon race at a gymkhana, and when, with the aid of a piece of chewing gum, he wins, she is so infuriated that she breaks off the engagement. Jack promptly proposes to Jean Gillie, but when Marjorie Brooks arrives on the scone and says it was only a lover’s tiff and her uncle Sebastian is calling on Jack to discuss plans for the wedding, it is impressed on Jack that all is not well. Jack Buchanan is seen at his brightest and best, and Elsie Randolph is splendid, jiarticulnrly in ‘ You’ve Got the Wrong Rhumba,’ in which she illustrates very gracefully this old Cuban custom.
