‘ At the meeting of the North-east Valley branch of the Woman’s Christian Temperance Union the president (Miss Gray) presided over a good attendance A member from tho Rakaia Union was welcomed. It was decided to forward the following resolution to the Acting Prime Minister, the Minister of Justice, and the local member:— “That this meeting would again urge on the Government tbe necessity for appointing women to tbe police force.
