CONCERT AT SEACLIFF

On Saturday night the West Harbour Brass Band journeyed to Seacliff Mental Hospital, where an' enjoyable concert was presented to the patients. Under the direction of Mr L. R. Gillanders, and the baton of Mr J. Logie, the following musical numbers were played hy the bandßendigo March,’ ‘ Policeman’s Holiday,’ ‘ Here Conies the Sun,’ ‘ Silver Star Overture,’ two hymns, ‘ Fierce Raged the Tempest,’ and ‘ Nearer My God to Thee. Elocutionary items, ‘ Shopping,’ ‘ The First / Meal,’ and * The House with the Melody in it,’ were rendered by Miss N. N&wey. Mr F. Stewart sang ‘ Philadelphia in the Morning,’ and ‘ The Bonnets of .Bonnie Dundee.’ Mr and Mrs Maharey sang the duets, 1 Barefoot Days,’ ‘ I See You,’ and other numbers. Step-dancing items were presented by Messrs Arthur Mayne and D. Maharey. _ Mr Lambert Williams was accompanist. Prior to the. concluding item, Dr H. D. Hayes, medical superintendent, thanked the band on behalf of the patients and staff. The concert was held under the auspices of the Patients and Prisoners’ Aid Society.
