LISTENERS’ LEAGUE AND B STATIONS.

TO THE EDITOB. Sir,—Your correspondent, Mr A. Rowan, is an example of the small minority of citizens who view the world through myopic eyes, and then try to measure up the universe with their own puny footrule. I listened to the programme' from 4ZO, the B station in question, on Friday night, and I considered it an excellent one. Such artists as Peter Dawson, Richard Crooks, Joseph Smidt, Mathilda and Irene Harvey, Reginald Dixon, and Eric Coates being included in the programme. Local talent presented two short plays, and there was a Shakespearean item. I defy Mr A. Roman to produce a better list than this from any YA station broadcasting that night. The fact that 4ZO has secured a special broadcast programme by members of the Marcus Show is in itself a recommendation of the B station, and an indictment of the unenterprising YA authorities. I am afraid Mr A. Rowan belongs to that little circle of listeners who imagine that if they beat their reactionary tom-toms long and loud enough they will convert the majority to their way of thinking. Professor Shelley and his staff let opportunity go by when first-class companies come to New Zealand and the B stations show them how. Let Mr A. Rowan wail with his minority while the majority go on enjoying the fine programes presented by B stations, such as 4ZO. The dial is free for everybody to turn.—l am, etc., .June 28. Marcus.
