The weekly old-time dance will be held in the Early Settlers’ Hall to-night. The Kailway Department advertises in this issue particulars of special excursion fares and train arrangements in connection with races at Oaraaru on July 3. Special train slopping at certain stations will leave Dunedin at 8.45 a.m., arriving Oamaru 11.45 a.m. (connecting with train to racecourse at 11.53 a.m.). Eeturn train leaves Oamaru 5.32 p.m., arriving Dunedin 8.36 p.m. The United Starr-Bowkett Building Society will dispose of £2,000 by sale' and ballot on July 22. The Bailway Department advertises in this issue that another special train at cheap excursion fares will be run from Invercargill, stopping at Balclutha, Stirling, and Milton, on Sunday, July 4, returning the same day. . The annual meeting of the Dunedin Amenities Society will be held in Town Hall Council Chambers on Monday afternoon, at 3.15. Mr D. Tannock will give an address on ‘ Roadside Tree-planting.' The public are invited to attend.
