MEXICAN RAILWAYS
EXPROPRIATED BY GOVERNMENT FOREIGN INTERESTS INVOLVED. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright MEXICO CITY, June 24. June 25, at 10 a.m.) A Presidential degree has been published expropriating the national railways, in which the Government holds a majority interest, the remainder being privately held by British, French, and American interests. The railways have foreign obligations, including defaulted interest totalling half a billion dollars. The measure is considered as a step toward socialisation of the industry'.
