CURTAILMENT SOUGHT
DAYLIGHT SAVING LAWi FORTY-HOUR WEEK ENABLES ENOUGH RECREATION [Per United Press Association.] HAMILTON, Juno 25. Two remits embodying the abolition of tho Daylight Saving Act, and one urging the Government to reduce the period of daylight saving, were before tho National Dairy Federation Conference last evening. Speakers pointed out that the legislation was primarily passed to enable the workers to enjoy more recreation in summer, but with the advent of the 40-hour week it was considered that this was no longer necessary. It was felt that there was no prospect of having tho Act abolished, these remits being defeated, and a remit asking the Government that daylight saving commence on November 1 and end on tho first Sunday in March was unanimously adopted.
