In the Wimbledon singles, third round, Budge defeated Boussus, 6-1,. 6-4, 6-2; Grant defeated Avory, 6-3, 6-4, 2-6, 6-2; M'Grath defeated Pallada, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5, 6-2; Crawford defeated Knkuljevic, 6-3, 6-2, 10-8; Austin defeated Bromwich, 6-2, 4-6 ; 6-0, 8-6; von Cramm defeated Yamagishi, 6-4, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4; Lacroix defeated Lee, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2, 6-4; Henkel defeated Puncec, 6-2, 6-2, 6-1; Stedman defeated Bernard, 6-4, 6-2, 6-3; Hare defeated Fannin, 6-1, 6-0, 10-8. Other winners included Prenn, Mako, Hecht, Shayes, Shaff, and Parker. In the women’s doubles, first round, Mesdam.es Andrus and Henrotin defeated Senorita Lizana and Miss Scriven, 6-2, 9-7. Second round: Mile. Mathieu and Miss Yorke defeated Misses Marble and Winthrop, 6-2, 6-4. In the men’s doubles, second round, Cooper and Tinkler defeated BessemerClark and Goldham, 6-4, 8-10, 6-3, 6-4. Crawford and M‘Grath comfortably accounted for Yugoslavian Davis Cup players Kukuljevic and Pallada. Both are left handers.
