‘SATURDAY NIGHT,' by Russell Clarke.

COTTSFORD BURDON, ESQ., by R. N. Field, A.R.C.A. ‘STUDY,’ by Ida H. Carey. DISTINCTION FOR DUNEDIN ARTISTS.—Two Dunedin artists—Mr Russell Clark and Mr R. N. Field -were honoured recently by having their work shown at the important Coronation Exhibition in London, organised by the Royal British Colonial Society of Artists. This exhibition was made up of outstanding paintings by artists throughout the British Empire, and attracted wide attention. Competent art critics at Home were impressed by the work of Mr Clark and Mr Field. Mr W. G. Constable, a recognised authority, stated that Mr Clark’s ‘Saturday Night’ was a promising creation that exemplified his fine sense of design. In Mr Field’s study “a feeling of character emerged.’’ The other painting reproduced here is by Ida Carey, of Christchurch. It was also included in the exhibition.
