ROUGHEST TASMAN CROSSING. Over 30 hours late, the Wanganella arrived at Auckland about midday from Sydney, having had one of the roughest Tasman crossings in the steamer’s history. The vessel was - liove-to for 40 hours, and tons of water were taken green over the bows, the forepart of the ship being almost continuously under water. The seas washed into the fo’c’,s’!e, where 12 inches of water were swirling under the men’s bunks. Almost all the passengers were indisposed during the trip.—Press Association.
