R.S.A. CONFERENCE
CIVIL SERVICE ANNUITANTS CONSIDERATION FOR MEN RETIRED THROUGH WAR SERVICE [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, June 24, The R.S.A. Conference agreed that in all cases where returned soldiers were receiving the veterans’ allowance and sustenance, they should be required to. report to a Labour Bureau monthly instead of weekly, at as present. The principle of special consideration to Civil Service annuitants whose retirement took place before the completion of 40 years’ service owing to whr service was supported, cases to he dealt with on their merits. The Government is to be again urged to make more provision for the employment of ex-servicemen in the Government service. The Canteen Funds Trust Board is to be asked to grant not less than £12,000 during the present year for the assistance of the large number of partially disabled men still dependent on the benevolent funds to supplement their income.
