COURSING.
TO THE EDITOB. Sir, —I wish to take exception to tho report of “ Plumpton ” of the Dunedin Coursing Club’s meeting at Forbury Park on the 19tli inst. “ Plumpton ” states that the hares were not up to standard. This is not correct. Tho hares were well trained and strong, being fed by both caretakers of Forbury Park and Mr D. Harwood, of the Dunedin Coursing Club, twice a day and put through the boxes and driven home. Ido not know where “ Plumpton ” gets his information from. He must rely on information from outsiders. It was commented on by all “ sports ” and the public that this was the best meeting run at Forbury Park for a long time. “ Plumpton ” does not represent in any way the coursing clubs of New Zealand. “ Plumpton ” also comments on the small number of nominations. Owing to a misunderstanding a number of nominations arrived too late for the draw, whicli was very unfortunate for the club.—l am, etc., A. L. Mitchell. June 23.
