A BUSY MORNING HOSPITAL AND POST OFFICE VISITED The lively interest taken by Viscount Galway in charitable institutions and hospitals ,reflected in the number he has visited since his arrival in Dunedin, was again illustrated this morning, tho Governor-General finding time to include a visit to the Public Hospital in a particularly strenuous morning’s programme. For tho inmates of the Hospital His Excellency’s tour of the wards was in the nature of a tonic to the patients, who had eagerly anticiptaed his visit. As he proceeded through the institution, spending some time in each ward, he had a cheery word for many a patient, especially in the children’s ward. Viscount Galway was accompanied on his tour of the institution by Sir Standish O’Grady Roche, A.D.C., the mayor (Rev. E. T. Cox) and the mayoress, the chairman (Mr J. \V. Dove) and members of the Hospital Board, the secretary (Mr John Jacobs), the superintendent (Dr James Thomson), the chairman of the honorary staff (Mr Jenkins), and the matron (Miss Tennant). After Mr Dove had briefly welcomed him. His Excellency expressed his delight in being accorded the opportunity of inspecting the Hospital and its modern facilities for the treatment of the sick.

Following the opening V him of the Chinese art exhibition, the GovernorGeneral was shown through the Post Office by the Postmaster-General (Mr Jones) and the Chief Postmaster (Mr N. R. MTsaac), His Excellency being obviously delighted with the architectural beauty and up-to-date appointments of the building, in which he spent a considerable time.
