KILLED BY INSANE HUSBAND. After hearing evidence, the coroner (Mr W. R- M‘Kean) found that Mrs Mary Elizabeth GageBrown (87) died in Auckland Hospital on April 6 as the result of lacerations of the brain and sev'efe injuries to the head inflicted with an iron weight by ■ her husband, who had been a patient in Auckland Mental Hospital, and who was out on leave for a period of six months. The evidence had disclosed that neither prior to admission, nor while in hospital, was deceased’s husband regarded as dangerous or suicidal. It was also shown that at the time he inflicted the injuries on his wife his condition was dictated by delusional ideas, and his judgment and reasoning were so completely deranged that he lacked compre-
