KING’S BROADCAST. A British Official Wireless message states that King George’s broadcast address to the Empire on the evening of Coronation Day will come as a climax to a programme of Empire- homage in which five Empire Prime Ministers and the Viceroy of India will take part. Mr Baldwin, the last Prime Minister to be broadcast, will speak the few introductory sentences which . will bring the King to the microphone at Buckingham Palace. BILBAO BLOCKADE. SALAMANCA, April 25.—General Franco’s Government is strongly protesting to Britain regarding alleged assistance by British warships to blockade runners. The Junta considers H.M.S. Hood’s , action “in favour of breaking the blockade a flagrant breach of the most elementary principles -of mutual respect between nations.” CLEARING. OF ROADS. The slip on the highway between Beaumont and Rae’s function was cleared this afternoon. The flooding on the Main South road at Waipahi had cleared but motorists are advised to inquire at Waipahi as to the negotiation of the road near M’Nab.
